The war of the tablets between Telstra and Optus

The war of the tablets between Telstra and Optus
This post about the so called tablets on the market in particular the Optus tablet and the Telstra tablet.
Optus mytab (zte v9)

Let’s start with the well after going to Optus running around trying to find one that not playing up or bright or dead pixels I had to give up my search why because in the industry ur bond to find bright or dead pixel all a few well Optus and zte need to get their act together on this one why because this tablet a great product but there a few down sides to it to with the lcd itself the ones I have exchange from Optus in Brisbane city were either cracked or had at least 4 bright and 1 dead pixel in them but all round very fast and good for everyday use or people on budget look for a device that user friendly and fast on the other hand watch out as with all good things come drew back if you can’t put up with low speakers or bright or dead pixels I strongly don’t recommend u getting one of these as they will find their way as ur next door stop for software wise the touch input is resistive touch which is far more accurate then the Telstra t tab pick up more and boot speed about 10sec I put a 32 gig micro sd into mine sound wise for mp3s good luck trying to get deaf as I turn it up full 100% over the ipad u get a sore ear this one is light and built to a price over all I think they have to fix the major bugs that I have found like the lcd and sound other then that it a great product great battery life fast no lag cpu as I open a lot of programs and apps 80 to my count still running smooth abit laggie for games but for net and word and facbook very quick easy to use . The Optus MyTab has average battery life, managing to last a full day in most instances. While this obviously doesn’t place it in iPad territory, it is far better than the similarly priced Telstra T-Touch Tab. Unfortunately, the MyTab’s battery takes more than three hours to fully charge again. The Optus MyTab has obvious shortcomings, as any tablet in this price range will. Provided you’re willing to live with the lack of Flash and multitouch support, the lack of power to complete multiple tasks quickly, and the fact that this version of Android hasn’t been designed with tablets in mind, the MyTab provides all the features and benefits of the flexible Android platform. My advice it not worth the money but if u can’t put up with the lcd and sound prob don’t get better investing in something like the Samsung galaxy tablet .
The Telstra t tab (Huawei S7)

The testra t tab is a very poorly made tablet on the market as I have tested opening apps is very slow does not pick up touch points lags a lot that just for stuff like facebook and msn and yahoo messenger Unfortunately, the Telstra T-Touch Tab has mediocre battery life. Even with moderate use, it rarely lasted three hours, and struggled to even last this long when used regularly. We watched 20 minutes of an AVI video file, listened to music, and periodically used the browser and a few Web-centric apps like Facebook and Twitter and the T-Touch Tab needed a recharge before the two hour mark. On a device that’s been tailored for Internet and multimedia use, this is a real black mark. Despite its obvious shortcomings, the Telstra T-Touch Tab is a reasonable multimedia device and Android is far less restrictive than Apple’s iPad/iPhone platform. While the Dell Streak and the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab could be considered competitors, their higher price means the T-Touch Tab is effectively alone as an affordable, entry-level tablet that doesn’t skimp on too many features.

Why did I choose to endouse the Tegatech Tega v2

First thing is yes I know Mr. Hugo he has taught me all my tablet pc knowledge that I have passed on to others and have converted 1000s to take up the Tablet PC. The first time I picked up the TEGA was when Cameron, a very good mate of mine and business partner, bought one from MR Hugo and to my surprise bought it to lunch back in December  2010. As soon I picked it up it felt like I was on another planet the tablet did not feel like a heap of cheaply made plastic or something that was made like a counterfeit iPad. The TEGA felt like a real tablet; the touch felt smooth and the rear aluminium feels like something you get in a high end laptop, and not like something you get from a cheap mobile phone. The support for it has been really good with senior technician at Tegatech, Yong Sun and Hugo answering all my question of support.
The thing I love about the TEGA v2 is the extra battery life – this is a big plus, also it can dual boot into two Operating Systems, i.e. Windows and Google Android, which is good as sometime I like android better for stuff like Facebook and blogging but some time you have to boot into windows to use office to run my business and CRM software; for example when I get to an event I get people to add there information instead of them giving me there business cards as they end up in the bin. The savings I have made from not printing business cards is great, and there are saving for other people in business if they get this to work properly into their computer departments too. There are other advantages to be had too, for example people can save their information into applications like Sage, ACT, MYOB, Outlook, which are all programs they use in everyday life. WithMicrosoft Office I have the power of Outlook, or MYOB has a Contact Manager software too. I know everyone has a Windows Phone or Google Android and they can bluetooth there information onto the TEGA easily too .
The other thing I have to point out is Hugo has been in the tablet pc industry since the beginning, i.e. over 10 years. As soon as the first Tablet PC hit our shores in Australia Hugo went off and decide to wholesale tablet pc;  he went and sourced the best Tablets from around the world and bought them to Australia. He didn’t bother with the cheap and nasty stuff on the market, instead he source the best and bought them to Australia.
If I was going to build a tablet the TEGA v2 is what I would build. It has everything I want and need in one neat tablet with the feeling and looks to go with it.

Note I’m not getting paid to endorse Tegatech, as I write this blog as a hobby for the technology that love and I live and breathe.

How to Install Siri on iPhone 4/3GS?

Apple Iphone 3gs
The sensation of Siri in the iPhone 4S has created a lot of buzz for which most of the earlier users of iPhone are looking for a solution of how to install Siri on iPhone 4.
A different vision with a versatile conception is the key to achieve an unsorted market which has an everlasting impact on the customers. Moreover, after the launch of iPhone 4S, one of the questions which has been talked a lot is – how to install Siri on iPhone 4 /3GS.
Certainly, the recent launch of iPhone 4S created one of the biggest buzz in the world of Smartphone as it had delivered something really unique to the world in form of a voice assistance program which is known as the Siri voice command. Now the issue which lies to be sorted out is with the existing users of the iPhone who are currently using the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 3GS who also want to opt for the same function in their existing device.
Update: If you have updated iPhone 4/3GS to latest iOS 5.1.1 and jailbroken it with the latest Absinthe tool. Here is how to install Siri on iPhone 4/3GS running iOS 5.1.1 without proxy.
Update: Here is how to install Siri on jailbroken iOS 5.1
Update: If you are not enough lucky to get Siri on iPhone 4/3GS, iPad or iPod Touch. Try this new method to get Siri on non-iPhone 4S devices with FREE i4Siri Spire Proxy Server?
Update: Here is another alternative to get Siri on iPhone 4, iPad or iPod Touch without proxy server.
Update: Wanted to know how to port Siri on iPhone 4 without proxy? Here is a step by step tutorial that will walk you through how to install Siri on iPhone 4 without proxy.
Update: Unofficial Siri Port for iPhone 4/3GS Available For Free – Known as Spire.
Update: i4Siri has been brought out by developers to install siri on iPhone 4 legally and it will soon be made legal for the iPhone 4, 3GS and iPod Touch.
However there seems to be a conflict among the Apple and its users in such respect as Apple believes that the facility of Siri Voice Assistance Program shall only be reserved for the iOS 5 from Apple. The Siri application runs on the iPhone 4S with the help of the Apple server to which is directly connected to, therefore, it becomes almost impossible to evade the supervision of Apple in this case. On the other hand, the issue also lies in making a distinct product and apart from the Siri voice assistance feature, the iPhone 4S hardly has any other key features which separates it from the iPhone 4 not forgetting the advanced 8 mega pixel version of camera. Therefore, the dilemma continues to prevail but for people who have a desire to show off the Siri Voice assistance program just as an attraction, here is a Christmas present for all.
How to install Siri on iPhone 4 or How to install Siri on iPhone 3GS?
Before any thoughts are developed in the mind of the readers there is a statutory warning that this operation would only lead to Siri application view, it will not make the Siri operate on the device.
Make sure that the following have also been downloaded in order to eliminate any further inconvenience:
Now to begin with the process of how to install Siri on iPhone 4 or how to install Siri on iPhone 3GS, one needs to follow certain steps with high end precision:
  • The foremost step is to ensure that the current device is running on the iOS 5 which will enable the iOS to install the provisions of Siri on the existing device. One can get it done through by way of upgrading the iOS on the current device.
  • The next step is to ensure that the currently installed iOS 5 is jail broken for the purpose of implementing the Siri voice assistance program with the help of redsn0w.
  • After jail breaking the iOS 5, connect the device to the computer by using iPhone explorer or the i-Funbox in order to copy AssistantServices.framework folder files, which can be obtained from the above downloads. These downloads shall be stored in the device zone: Root>System>Library>PrivateFrameworks
  • Access the Springboard folder and then duplicate all the data and store the same on the device zone: Root>System>Library>CoreServices>Springboard.app
  • Now it is time to access Cydia where from the iFile location one needs to visit: System>Library>CoreServices>Springboard.app
  • The .plist file needs to be accessed from here which will be different for different devices. For an instance, in case of iPhone 4, it will be in form of N90, N91, etc, and in case of iPod touch it will be named as N81Ap, etc.
  • A new property list need to be added in the same .plist file and should be named assistant. Make sure that the class is set to Boolean and the value is stated as a Yes.
  • At the end of it ensure that ‘assistant’ has been added to the .plist file
Once all of these steps have been executed properly one ca have the Siri application on the iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS, but again is shall be remembered that these are only for demonstration, the application will not work and if precision is not maintained, it can also permanently damage the iPhone.

Iphone Home Button Not Working? – How to Fix It?

iPhone home button not working? Well, don’t worry. Quite a lot of people have the very same problem. Something seems to go wrong and both the single and the double-click functionality of the home button seems to be totally lost. When this happens first, one is easily prompted to press harder. Sometimes people just thing it’s the hardware problem and that the home button is gone for good. This may not be the case most of the times.

The problem might occur because of two reasons – one, the software may be faulty and two – this is the worst case scenario – the hardware might be faulty. If it is the latter, you definitely need to go to the Apple Center and get a new iPhone. If the problem is with the software – which it mostly is – one needs to try out the following methods.
A problem with the software usually is set right when you do a restoration of the iPhone OS. You can either do a restore from the backup, or do a complete restore in case you have not much data to worry about. Restoring from the backup or from scratch lets you reconfigure all your software settings so that whatever it is that was bugging the home button on the iPhone would go away.
However, some people have reported that both the types of restore does not bring the intended results. In that case, you’ll need to follow some other method. Here’s one more method which seems to work in favor of some iPhones. You could try it too.
  1. Open any application on the iPhone
  2. Press and hold the Power button till the ‘Slide to Shutdown’ screen appears.
  3. Now release the Power button and gently hold the Home button.
  4. In all probability, your Home button would start functioning normally again!
In the case that it fails to do so even after all this, you’ll definitely need to check out the hardware part. If you have just recently bought the device, then you get a replacement warranty so you can make use of that to get a new device quickly.
Update
In case your iPhone home button has become less sensitive or is even broken, iOS 5 has come up with the great solution named ‘AssistiveTouch’ feature. Assistive Touch is one of the accessibility features in iOS 5 that can be served as a workaround, if your iPhone home button is broken.
How to Enable Assistive Touch to Access Home Button from Screen in iOS 5:
Got to Settings -> General -> Accessibility. Scroll down to bottom and tap on “AssistiveTouch” option. Set it ON to activate the option.

After setting AssistiveTouch to ON, you will see a transparent round button at the bottom right of the screen. Tap on that round button to bring the touch menu.

You will find the Home button option that works just like as the physical home button.

Hope, latest iOS 5 AssistiveTouch feature will bring the intended results.
